Researchers have long studied the effects of diet and nutrition on productivity. It’s widely known that certain, ingredient-rich foods stimulate brain function in people.

Want to energize your job search? Here’s a list of brain-happy foods that will help you take your game up a notch.

1. Oily Fish

Sounds strange, right? Not so strange for your grey matter though – it’s called Essential Fatty Acids and they’re wonderful for intelligence processing. EFA exist in a bunch of foods but oily fish is one of the most abundant. Salmon, trout and mackerel are a few examples of commonly-consumed oily fish.

2. Whole Grains

This one’s a no-brainer. You need carbohydrates for a host of reasons – but the one concerning brain capacity is related to carbs. Carbs are responsible for focus and concentration as well as general long-term physical strength. Without carbs, you seriously lack the brain energy that comes from the glucose that’s ultimately broken down and distributed within your body. Remember this when you’re considering the next all-protein diet fad.

3. Nuts

A great snack, nuts are wonderful for cognitive function. This time vitamin E is the culprit – if you can eat other foods that are high in E such as asparagus, eggs and green leafy vegetables along with nuts, you’re really winning the race.

It’s worth it to look into the plethora of other brain happy foods – your abundance of job offers will make you pleased at your ability to incorporate “heady” food selections into to diet.
